Cabbage Thoran


Ingredients
  1. Cabbage                             -1
  2. Onion                                 -1/2 big
  3. Ginger                                -1 inch piece
  4. Split daal                            -1 Teaspoon
  5. Green Chili                         -3
  6. Salt                                    -as needed
  7. Oil                                      -1 tablespoon
  8. Mustard Seeds                   -1 Teaspoon



First chop cabbage, onion and ginger and split the green chili. Heat the pan, pour the oil and pop the mustard seeds. You can also put cumin seeds but I don’t used to put because my husband doesn’t like the taste of it. Then put the daal. And sauté the chopped onion splitted green chili. Then add cabbage. Also add the salt and turmeric powder. Put it in a low flame(don’t add water.Gently press it to the pan). Clode the lid. Saute it in intervals of 2 minutes.Keep it for about 7 minutes and for one minute don’t close the lid. You can also add ghee instead of oil.
